Safeguarding Overview
Safeguarding is central to everything we do.
We are committed to providing a safe environment where pupils feel listened to, respected and protected. All staff have a responsibility to safeguard children and young people, and safeguarding practice is embedded throughout the school.
We work closely with families, local authorities and external agencies to identify concerns, provide support and act in the best interests of pupils.
Operation Encompass
The Tutorial Foundation is an Operation Encompass trained school.
Operation Encompass is a safeguarding partnership between the police and education settings. It helps schools to provide timely support where a child or young person may have been affected by a domestic abuse incident.
Our trained safeguarding staff use Operation Encompass information carefully and confidentially, alongside our wider safeguarding procedures, to help ensure that pupils receive appropriate support when they may need it most.
This forms part of our commitment to maintaining a safe, vigilant and supportive school environment for all pupils.
Report a Concern
If you are worried about a child or young person, please contact the school’s safeguarding team as soon as possible.
If a child is at immediate risk of harm, call 999.
Concerns can also be reported to the relevant local authority children’s services or safeguarding team.
Safeguarding Team
The school has a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads who are trained to respond to safeguarding concerns.
The safeguarding team works with staff, pupils, families and external agencies to help keep children and young people safe.
Online Safety
Online safety is an important part of safeguarding and personal development.
We support pupils to understand how to use technology safely, recognise risks, seek help and make informed choices online. We also encourage families to speak with us if they have concerns about online safety, social media, gaming, communication or digital wellbeing.
