Careers & Preparation for Adulthood
Preparation for adulthood begins long before pupils leave school.
At The Tutorial Foundation, careers education and preparation for adulthood are an important part of our wider provision. We have an in-house careers advisor who supports pupils to explore their options, understand possible pathways and prepare for their next steps in education, training, employment or further support.
Throughout the academic year, pupils also have access to courses and activities designed to support preparation for adulthood. These may focus on areas such as independence, communication, confidence, decision-making, employability, college readiness, life skills and understanding the wider world.
For many pupils, preparation for adulthood is closely linked to their EHCP outcomes, personal development needs and future aspirations. We support pupils to think about their strengths, interests and goals, while helping them develop the practical and personal skills they need for life beyond school.
Our aim is for pupils to leave The Tutorial Foundation with a clearer sense of direction, greater confidence and a stronger understanding of the choices available to them.
