Information & Communications Technology (ICT)
Summary:
ICT is offered at all levels to students and delivered through the ICT curriculum.
Teaching/Delivery:
Teaching is provided on a regular basis by the appointed IT Tutors and based mainly in The IT suite on the ground floor. Lessons and teaching are delivered through: teacher explanation, class discussion, practice and exercises using appropriate technology.
KS3 and KS4 Topics:
Students explore the basics of using a Computer and Microsoft Office software including:
- Computer Basics – Windows, icons and buttons, using storage devices, Managing Files and folders, printing and capturing evidence
- Minimising Physical Stress
- Using the internet safely and effectively
- Using Email Software, sending and receiving emails
- Word Processing – creating, formatting and using Graphics.
- Spreadsheets – Entering and editing data, Fomulas, charts and Graphs
- Presentations – creating and editing Presentations
- Databases – creating and editing Databases, Queries and Reports.
