Outcomes, Exams & Next Steps
At The Tutorial Foundation, we want every pupil to work towards meaningful outcomes that support their future.
For many pupils, this includes preparing for and sitting public examinations or accredited qualifications. Depending on their individual pathway, pupils may work towards GCSEs, Functional Skills, Entry Level qualifications, ASDAN courses, AQA Unit Awards or other suitable qualifications.
We recognise that pupils join us with different starting points, prior experiences and levels of confidence. For this reason, exam pathways are planned carefully around each pupil’s needs, ability, confidence, attendance, EHCP outcomes and future aspirations.
Pupils are supported to prepare for exams in a way that is calm, structured and reassuring. This may include small-group teaching, individual support, revision planning, access arrangements where appropriate, practice papers, targeted intervention and support with managing exam-related anxiety.
Qualifications are important, but they are not the only measure of success. We also value improvements in attendance, confidence, communication, independence, emotional regulation, relationships, resilience and readiness for adulthood.
Our aim is for pupils to leave The Tutorial Foundation with recognised achievements where appropriate, a clearer sense of their next steps and greater confidence in their ability to move forward.
