Pupil Support
Pupil support is a central part of life at The Tutorial Foundation.
Because we are a small provision, staff get to know pupils well. We take time to understand each young person’s strengths, needs, interests, triggers, barriers and aspirations. This helps us provide support that feels personal, consistent and meaningful.
Pupils may receive support with learning, emotional regulation, communication, relationships, confidence, attendance, behaviour, independence and preparation for adulthood. Support is provided through everyday relationships, small classes, pastoral input, SEND strategies, therapeutic approaches and close work with families.
Our pastoral team plays an important role in helping pupils feel safe, listened to and understood. Support may include check-ins, regulation strategies, help with transitions, problem-solving conversations, restorative work, family communication and signposting to additional services where appropriate.
We want pupils to know who they can speak to, how to ask for help and what to do if they are worried about themselves or someone else.
The aim of pupil support is to help young people feel reassured, build trust, develop resilience and become more confident in managing school, relationships and life beyond The Tutorial Foundation.
