We offer a flexible tutoring service dependent on the individual child’s needs and the schools they are targeting. The tuition is always delivered by an experienced and qualified 11+ tutor. We pride ourselves on delivering a personalised learning programme with continuous, individualised feedback to ensure every child has the tools and knowledge to complete the 11+ exam with confidence.
We offer group or individual sessions covering all the 11+ disciplines: Mathematics, English, Verbal Reasoning, Non Verbal Reasoning and Exam Familiarisation. All materials are always provided by The Tutorial Foundation.
School Exam Formats
St Olave’s Grammar School, Orpington
Stage 1: Multiple choice exam in English Comprehension, Mathematics and Logic (Verbal Reasoning & Non Verbal Reasoning) School’s own format.
Children who pass Stage 1 test are invited to take part in Stage 2 test.
Stage 2: English – 1 hour including multiple choice comprehension and a creative writing exercise. Maths – 1 hour consists of standard format question.
Newstead Wood School, Orpington
Multiple choice in Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning, GL Format.
Bexley Exam:
Chislehurst & Sidcup School, Sidcup, Beth’s Grammar School, Bexley, Townley Grammar School, Bexleyheath, Bexley Grammar School, Welling
Two tests, approx. 50 minutes, each containing a mixture of mainly multiple choice questions, divided into timed section. The questions will be a mixture of following subjects: Verbal Ability (Vocabulary, Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning) Numerical Reasoning (Mathematics) and Non-Verbal Reasoning including Spacial Reasoning. CEM format as constructed by Durham University.
Kent Exam:
Dartford Grammar School for Boys, Dartford; Dartford Grammar School for Girls, Dartford; Judd Grammar School, Tonbridge; Skinners Grammar School, Tunbridge Wells; Tonbridge Grammar School, Tonbridge; Weald of Kent Grammar School, Sevenoaks and Tonbridge and Wilmington Grammar School, Wilmington
Two tests, multiple choice format. Test 1 is one hour English (Comprehension and Literary Skills) and Maths. Test 2 is a Reasoning paper (Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Spacial Reasoning). Writing Exercise of 40 minutes which will only be marked when looking at borderline cases. GL Assessment Format.
